VENUE

The symposium will be held in the city of Graz, the European Capital of Culture 2003. Graz is located in Austria, in the heart of Europe. The city of Graz is located about 200 km south of Vienna and 300 km south east of Salzburg, the hometown of the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. 

The charming city of Graz, where tradition and modern spirit meet, will welcome you with an international smile and great warmth. Graz has 234,000 inhabitants and it is the second largest city in Austria.

The UFRIM symposium will be held in the historical building of Graz University of Technology, which dates back to 1811.

TRAVEL

By car
Leave the highway “A2“ at the exit “Graz-Ost“ or the highway "A9" at the exit "Graz Nord".

By train
Graz has a train station of “Österreichische Bundesbahnen" (Austrian railways) and is a stop for international and local trains. Buses and tramway cars take riders to the center and to the conference venue.

By airplane
The airport of Graz is located about 10 km south of the city centre. There is a shuttle bus  connection from the airport to the center of Graz. The price for a one-hour-ticket is € 1.90,--. For the fastest and most convenient  transport you should take a taxi.  It cost approximatly € 20,-- to € 25,-- and takes 20 - 25 minutes.
